Performance differences in Garrett 2 box units?

I'm kicking around buying a Master Hunter with 2 box, just for the 2 box purpose. I know there were several models of the MH over the years that all had a two box option... So is any MH better than another when we're just talking 2 box? The nice lady at Garrett told me that the 2500 would probably get a couple more feet in the right soils, but of course that costs more to go that route.

Anybody have any experience in this area?

If your MH has a true all metal mode (which it does).....you will be digging can size objects in feet, not inches. The MH II & MH III has the Power Master circuitry, which gives a little more depth over the MH cx. When dealing in feet....several inches really shouldn't make a hole lot of difference.

If it's for a good price, buy it.

Thanks for the info! My interest is in the 6 foot and deeper range and a little larger than cans but not sure of the exact size. Sound like no sweat for the Master Hunter!

Bigger the size deeper it goes.As I recall, gallon can - size down to about four feet. Without looking it up I may be off s foot or so on that. John might be able to make it more accurate from memory
