Pensacola Park yields old coins....

Howdy all;H

Here is the Reader's Digest Condensed version of this weekends hunt. Hit two locations with my hunting partner for a few hours. We stopped by an older ball field, lots of junk, little of the good stuff...we moved back to the park where we started. After a while he was walking over to where I was to tell me it was time to head back and he gets a good solid hit. I come over and he pops out a 1940's Mercury...we get busy in that area and come up each with some wheat's; his a 1919, mine a 1926...I said to myself one more swing....and I get a decent hit on the ol' Compadre (yep, a beeb/dig machine) and I dig out a 1917 Buffalo nickel. Was too tired for a happy dance , but we were both psyched about these finds.... We'll be back at that place soon...My partner hunts with a White's DFX (he is working on the learning curve of this new machine)and all in all, we found about the same amount of stuff (clad)...Tesoro Compadre is awesome...

Congrats on the haul. Glad to see that the Tesoro's can hold their own against the more expensive machines out there.

Love it! Them Buffs are nice to see - cant complain about a Merc, either.

Finding a buffalo with a readable date is always a nice find! Guess who is going to pay for their detector first? :clapping:

I like the compadre the more I use it. It's got me thinking about getting rid of some other machines we have.

Well, now, let's not be hasty! What do you have that you may consider parting with?

I wholeheartedly agree with earlier responses about the Buffalo Nickel. Its been one of the scarcer finds with me also, always a treat. Looks like a good day!

Congrats on the very good haul! Any day with wheats and a buff is a good day! Congrats to you, Beale.
