Pennys

I have just purchased the EXP II and I am trying to put coins on the of different denominations of the floor so I can hear what they sound like. I have success with the quater, dime and a silver ring but I am having a hard time picking up the penny and the nickel. What am I doing wrong? I am running in factory preset.

It is difficult to test in a house and on the floor for several reasons. However, even in my house I have no problem with any US coins. I would check the coins in IM-15 or -16 to see that it is not the discrimination rejecting the two coins. You should not have any problem with a US coin unless it it being rejected by the discrimination settings.
Let us know what happens so we can help get it corrected.

Pennies take in a large area from early indian heads to modern pennies, but indeed all have copper in their mixure to some extent. Perhaps are being masked by the copper wiring in your home or like Cody relates to perhaps you are discriminating them out not being familiar with the unit.In any case just not a good idea to try to operate your Explorer inside a home without problems..Not knowing if you are using silver coins( dime and quarter) hard to tell. In any case feel once the snow is gone and you gain some more expertise with the unit am sure it will work fine once you get outside...
