Penny Trifecta??

Finally got a little bit of rain, ground is digable again...for a few days. Hunted a turn of the century house for an hour this evening, and did ok. First signal that I dug was a signal that would only hit from two directions, but it was a solid signal and near tree roots so i figured it could be a coin on edge, yup a 1919 wheatie, not a bad start. Broke into the 1800's for the first time in a long time with a decent looking 1890 Indian head. I couldn't stop there, I had to keep on hunting to get a zincoln to complete my penny trifecta....success!!! HH!!

Outstand! Congratulations!
Adam, How do you like the 10" coil; is there significant difference from the 8" coil? Have you ever tried the 4"?
I'm new to metal detecting. I have a Pioneer 505.

Thanks, Ski

Thanks! Every Indian head that I've found has been in pretty nice shape, wheaties on the other hand are hit or miss corrosion-wise, some come out looking gorgeous and others pretty crusty.

I love the 10 inch coil, ski. My machine came with a 6 inch coil, but once I got the 10 inch, I haven't used the 6 inch at all. It won't go any deeper, but the field of detection at depth is much wider than the 6 inch so my finds have gotten better/deeper since I switched, don't have to overlap my swings as much. I hear that the 505 is a pretty good machine, hope you have fun learning your machine and find lots of goodies in the process!! HH!

Adam Thanks for the quick response, sounds like the 10" coil will have to go on my wish list.
I appreciate you sharing your experience with it.
Happy Hunting,
Ski
