Pelican do it your self 1600 hard case

Hi every one: I wanted to post a picture of how I set up my DFX into the Pelican 1600 Hard Case. As I searched the net for some hints to know where to place every thing so it fits and did not fined any posts. So guys and gals feel free to post your setups as this might help some one like me in the future. The Pelican hard case come with 4 layers of foam with 2 layers that are precut into 1/2 inch squares layer #1 is 1 inch thick with no cuts layer #2 is 2 3/8 inch thick precut into 1/2 inch squares with a 1 inch border around the case. Layer #3 is the same as layer #2 and the top layer #4 that fits in the lid is 1 1/2 inch eggceate type foam with no cuts. Layers #2 and #3 were cutout by pulling apart the precut blocks to fit the detector parts and then layers 1. 2. and 3. were glued together with Elmer's Ultimate Glue and let dried over night. I purchased the Case from Kellyco off line but I have seen them in other places as well like Sports shops and Camera shops.I have also heard that gun cases work very well to for a assembled detector.
P.S. Kellyco had the best price I could find!!

Hi Joe, You did a great job. I am going to make me one and soon as I find out how you cut the foam for yours. I have used an electric knife before which did ok, but your cuts appear more precise. Let us know what you used. HH Dennis in Idaho
