Pekin Illinois detecting spots?

I'll be flying to Illinois next week and wondered if anyone can suggest some good sites to detect. I'll be based in Pekin Illinois for about 2 weeks. I have some property there and family. I have detected around there before and for me coming from Southern Cal; it's like stepping back in history 100 plus years I'd be happy to detect some already heavily detected areas!. Thank you!

Hello Goldstrike,Pekin and Peoria area Im sure has plenty of old ball parks and older city parks that should keep you busy for a few weeks or come on over to Galesburg about 50 miles away and you can hunt the park I hunt in all the time..Enjoy your time in Illinois....Markmac

Thanks Markmac! I may just take you up on the invitation! That area as you know was built in part on the coal mining industry and there are some big Victorian homes on big lots and I'm sure there are ooodles of old silver coins just waiting to be detected!! Also probably a few gold rings no doubt!!! Of course, getting permission is a challenge. I'm looking forward to being there!
