PD stamped ring

In my detecting yesterday I found a ring. I love finding rings and I don’t even care if they turn out to be junkers. Digging up a ring ball and seeing that beautiful curvature of the ring poking through the dirt always gets me excited. I was talking to a friend who has higher end detectors and has been detecting for a while. He says he still has not found a ring. I have found so many rings over the years with my Tesoros and bounty hunters before Tesoros. Some gold, some silver, some junkers. I have never found one stamped PD until yesterday. I looked up PD and found out it stands for Palladium, which is in the Platinum family and is a rare precious metal. I do not know if my ring I found is only Palladium plated or if the PD is the stamp of who made the ring. I have seen Platinum before and it does not tarnish like this ring has tarnish on it. So if it does have Palladium on it. I think it is only plated with Palladium. On second thought after cleaning it up it was shining so brightly I could hardly take a picture of the PD because it was shining so much in the light. I think it is real Palladium or silver with palladium plating because all tarnish or dirt disappeared. Has any one else found any rings stamped PD or PD950? If you have PD950 on a ring it is at least 95% Palladium. Mine does not have 950, just PD. Some rings are also silver and PD plated. Mine does not have an ss mark or 925 stamped on it. I still think it is a cool ring and I learned something new even if it runs out not to be real. I am excited none the less. I will add it to the constantly growing collection of rings found. It is such a small ring. Good luck and HH.

Thank you Muddy Mo and Ohio Pull tabs. It was nice to find something different for a change. I love finding gold, silver, relics and other things, but had never found a ring stamped PD. I found it with the 7” coil Compadre. I have only had the Compadre since September and it has found silver and this Palladium ring and so many other coins and things. It is an amazing detector and my go to on many hunts. It is the best $75 I ever spent. If I find another Compadre for that price. I will buy it right away. I have the 5.75” coil Compadre too. They are amazing detectors. I would like to find an 8”coil Compadre some day. Then I would have all 3. The Compadres are amazing detectors.
