Patterns and settings

There’s some around on some guys websites for sure .
When I got a CTX I looked for the magic program and then realized that some of these were from over seas, some where from different parts of the country and as you know conditions are different and effect how the machine needs to be adjusted.
I finally took the basic programs and modified them for my soil, and the type of objects I want to find and for the trash I need to elemanate.
With a good selection of coins, jewelry, and relics you can find where things hit and test the junk too and block it out
The CTX book Andy puts out has lots of suggestions and info for building programs and adjusting settings.
A good test garden is great to see how different settings act too, I’m in mine all the time
So in a nut shell , build your own would be what I recommend, but there out there with a search.
Good luck
BT

Unless you're in a mess of trash, the best pattern is wide open. But Andy's book is the best place to start to get a clue.

I recommend only discing out the bottom right corner, or at the most bottom lines.

The CTX handbook has a lot of pretty pictures.
I suggest you spend some tine here https://www.findmall.com/list.php?87

Can someone give me a good place to find patterns and settings?

Are you a surf or turf hunter? If you are a surf hunter, go to Clive's Gold page. (google it) He has several .mlf files there that are good for surf and may have a few for turf as well. He is out of Canada so I know some are only good for their coins but has some great surf patterns. YouTube is also a good source and CT Todds web page as well. Get creative with your Google searches and you will come up with several. I think I have close to 70 saved and while I don't necessarily use them the way they are downloaded, they will get you into the ballpark and you can tweak them for your soil and hunting conditions. Andy's book is good as well as Clive's books on explaining the interworking of the CTX. It is an awesome detected with more capabilities than 95% of the owners know about or will ever use. You just don't have enough time to learn them all unless you are retired and use it full time on a daily bases. Good luck with it and make the patterns your own for your conditions and don't be afraid to tweak things. A couple of small adjustments can make a huge difference in performance on your specific conditions and ground.

I have been a turf hunter and will continue there. But am thinking of doing some water hunting. Would be nice in the hot months
