Pattern 2 setup

Hi Guys
Just set up the pattern 2 accept ..reject. Managed to reject all pulltabs and ring pulls. All Australian coins from pre-decimal to modern accepted. The only coin i Could'nt accept was the 20c piece... as it falls into a certain pulltab range. Maybe i should accept this and chance digging a 20c or a pulltab.

Gary.

Gary,
at least half the time they will be a 20c.
When you hit 20-22 on the TID flick over to prospect. If its a 20c it will give you a beautiful, crisp, zap, zap, zap as you wave your coil over it. Its a much more distinctive signal than a pulltab or ringpull.
With practice most of the time you get it right.
But to be honest, I dig even the iffy ones just to be sure. Sometimes its a coin thats a bit deeper than most and as such it will sound a bit faint.
Also I only use the 18.75 khz 10x5 dd coil. Much prefer it to the standard coil the machine comes with.

Cheers.

Lou.

hey lou,i'm from up north down under,in cairns.i too prefer to hunt using the 18.75khz dd 5"by10" coil rather than the standard coil on my xt50.hh,see ya! blowfly

I love the elliptical DD coil for everything and anything although I prefer the stock coil for coins in parks and school grounds ect. I have used every coil bar the 3khz and find all coils are pretty damn good regardless what you do with them. I have even used the standard coil in prospect mode on a gold field with good results although I did have to turn down the sensitivity a bit :detecting: I too live in Cairns and love the area we have. I sure am looking forward to using the 6" DD at some local water holes this summer......................a cool dip and some detecting, what more could a man want besides a keg hooked up to the back of the truck
Cheers!

That's a great little tip Lou. The 70 sure does have some neat little tricks that you can do with it.
Thanks.
Mick Evans.
