Patronized my local whites dealer today

Stopped by and picked up a TRX, would not move off retail, :veryangry: I started to walk out, but i wanted it today. I did get him to eat the state sales tax so that was something, and the last something he'll get from me... now what did i do with my Budlight? :drinking:

I have a local dealer that has the retail price listed on all his machines. He will not budge either. All of them are covered with dust.

:heh: That is funny, cause this guy has all his detectors hanging on a rack and i asked him if that V3i was new? he said yea, it looked like it had been hanging by a gravel road. :heh:

paid 149 with free shipping and no tax.

I paid 125 from my local guy with 50 yrs detector experience. He is a 77 year old guy who loves to hunt anything metal. He sell everything for the same price that he gets it for

at 77, that is great. :clapping: However my local whites dealer looks like he just got out of High school last summer, and doesn't know doodly squat "in my opinion" about detecting. I actually thought he is not the dealer but just a flunky for the actual dealer until i emailed whites and they gave me his name, and it actually was that kid that doesn't know doodly squat... :crazy:n:stars:

My dealer is the same. He has all these machines hanging on racks and won't budge on the price. I guess they'll be hanging there permanently. By the way, anyone know who has the best price on the trx shipped? Email please. Thanks

A dealer is allowed to give u a 10% discount or maybe a 15% disc. but they have changed the rules for dealers in the last few years as I was a multiline dealer and could at that time give 20% off but not now.its just about 10% if u got a pinpointer for 125 u did good as they cost about 115$ plus shp. to some dealers so u were lucky. shortribs

You know Dealers are sometimes hit or miss. I will name Backwoods as one of the best I have dealt with. I have had recommendations for others that never answered their phone or emails. I wonder how they stay in business. I like many others have a local Dealer but there is no dealing with them at all. If you pay full retail it is most times still cheaper than ordering and paying Shipping. Thing that gets me is dealing with Dealers who know nothing about what they sell.

If a dealer wont budge on price over here in the UK i wont buy from him full stop,i move onto another dealer until i get a reduction in the price, over the years have saved some serious amounts of money and still got the goods that i originally wanted.

The guy i bought from wouldn't budge from $159.95,+ about $10.00 state sales tax, but since i had been wanting to get a TRX and was driving right by the dealer store, I thought i'll stop and see what i can do. I always thought the store owner was the dealer, so i was surprised when i asked to speak to the whites dealer and this young kid comes walking out of the back. I even asked him, are you white dealer and he said yea :) I know he isn't near old enough to be the original dealer so something i figure is a little shady, would not haggle 1 penny, so i finally said yea i'll pay $160.00 but no tax, he still mumbled under his breath and finally said okay $160.00 no tax. little does he know he lost a customer and not so much he had to have full retail he was not knowledgeable and unfriendly.
