Well it looks like the X-70 is going by the way side, to bad because I still like my x-70 and it has all the functions I need at this time, too bad because I sure enjoyed this fourm A dyed in the wool X-70 user

Don't worry the X70 isn't going anywhere. :) It's been updated to add some features that some users wanted, but operates and feels like the original X70. I don't know how many X70s have been sold, but just by the number of hits on this forum it is substantial. They took the best all-arounder in it's price class and made it even more all-arounder.

The Forum will still be here..Plenty will still use the Xterra 70..many will upgrade to newer model.

Granted for a while most posts will be about the new...........But in the end everyone will post their Xterra finds. 30-50-70 and 305- 505-705.

My , "old" X-70 is staying, I see no need to purchase the , "new" one.

No Sweat dktucson, it's all good.

Like BarnacleBill and Elton said, our 70 isn't going to find less and there will be many of us who will keep ours.

I guess now I know how the Explorer Guys felt with each upgrade and trying to justify a new copy of their "Baby"
I will keep my 70 but plan on either an E-Trac or SE to compliment my arsenal.

Just wondering which if either would be the easiest transition? I have been reading Andy's books and am really excited.
Besides finding good stuff the next best thing about this passion I have for the hobby, is learning a new machine!!

So Guys, I look at it as an opportunity for improved finds. I still say it's the best bang for my buck of any hobby I've had in the past.

There are a lot of us who feel like xwoykid.
How many guys are still using their Explorer XS'es and II's with very good results.
How about the guys with the old Sovereigns still kicking butt. The 70 is still and will remain a great detector.

Please excuse the rant, I feel better now.
