THE LAW IS THE LAW

So if the US government determines that it is against the law for the words "under God" to be on our money, then, so be it.

And if that same government decides that the "Ten Commandments" are not to be used in or on a government installation, then, so be it.

I say, "So be it," because I would like to be a law abiding US citizen.

I say, "So be it," because I would like to think that smarter people than I are in positions to make good decisions.

I would like to think that those people have the American public's best interests at heart.

BUT, YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE I'D LIKE?

Since we can't pray to God, can't Trust in God and cannot post His Commandments in Government buildings, I don't believe the Government and its employees should participate in the Easter and Christmas celebrations which honor the God that our government is eliminating from many facets of American life.

I'd like my mail delivered on Christmas, Good Friday, Thanksgiving & Easter. After all, it's just another day.

I'd like the US Supreme Court to be in session on Christmas, Good Friday, Thanksgiving & Easter as well as Sundays. After all, it's just another day.

I'd like the Senate and the House of Representatives to not have to worry about getting home for the "Christmas Break." After all it's just an other day.

I'm thinking that a lot of my taxpayer dollars could be saved, if all government offices & services would work on Christmas, Good Friday & Easter. It shouldn't cost any overtime! Since those would be just like any other day of the week to a government that is trying to be "politically correct."

In fact....

I think that our government should work on Sundays (initially set aside for worshipping God...) because, after all, our government says that it should be just another day....

What do you all think????

If this idea gets to enough people, maybe our elected officials will stop giving in to the minority opinions and begin, once again, to represent the 'majority' of ALL of the American people.

SO BE IT........

Please Dear Lord,
Give us the help needed to keep you in our country!

'Amen' and 'Amen'

You think it would really fly if they were told they had to work Holidays???...........Yeah right........in our dreams. These politicians and government officials have 2 faces.

... just good folks working for a living and eventual pension like the rest of us.

Some of them, well, ya know they go "postal" and shoot up the neighborhood ... particularly if we take away their holidays.

Anytime religion is mentioned within the confines of government today people cry, Separation of Church and State". Many people think that this statement appears in the first amendment of the U.S. Constitution and therefore must be strictly enforced. However, the words: "separation", "church", and "state" do not even appear in the first amendment. The first amendment reads, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."

The statement about a wall of separation between church and state was made in a letter on January 1, 1802 by Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptist Association of Connecticut. The congregation heard a widespread rumor that the Congregationalists, another denomination, were to become the national religion.

Jefferson made it clear in his letter to the Danbury Congregation that the separation was to be that government would not establish a national religion or dictate to men how to worship God. Jefferson's letter from which the phrase "separation of church and state was taken affirmed first amendment rights. Jefferson wrote:
" I contemplate with solemn reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free expression thereof," thus building a wall of separation between Church and State."

The people that are infringing on our rights to worship as we see fit are the ones that are going against the constitution. Most people in this country have no concept what the constitution says and rely solely on what they see and hear on television. we are being force fed drivel by a small minority of atheist zealots whose goal is to destroy our cultural history and replace it with their idea of some "multi-cultural" mish mash of bastardized standards.

We have a business in a large city and sometimes we do not see a letter carrier for several days and it is the same story at home. If a letter carrier is off then the mail is either not delivered, or it is very late, sometimes like 8pm!! The postal service works on a bid system, carriers bid on a route, lowest bid gets it. That is his/her route, no one else does it unless they are going to get paid extra.........so no mail carrier for the day, then no mail for us.

did you know that the ACLU is government funded!! They specialize in suing the government that pays them and reap financial reward when they win the case. yes ladies and gentlemen, when they win we pay them twice. how is that for a lose/lose situation for the taxpayers?

is miserable.they hate the job but love the pay and beneys.i love to tweak him cause he goes off on a tangent of obsenities about his job and the wierd folks on his route.:rofl:oh the stories those guys have.

For the the record, I'm a non-demominational, God fearing, evolution respecting, conservitive-liberal, rational, logical Christian.
I'm not a waffleing politition, worried about re-election nor am I a lobbyist for private pork.

I'm an American, born of families from several nations, I care for all of us.
Personally, I'm born of the outcast of the world. Russian-Jew, escaping the Bulshavic revolution(Stalin) and English-Scandinavia seeking refuge from poverty and destruction of WW1. My grandmother arrived in a wagon to the midwest in the 1800's, she went to school with Laurence Welk and saw Buffalo Bills Wild West Show in his last year. My Dads Father was a wobbly, fighting for the rights of late 1800's loggers to sleep in clean(non bug-infested beds) and to have 1 day a week of rest! This was long before the 5 day-40 hr. week!...let alone L&I, vacations, sick leave, retirement and such. He was branded a communist radical by the republican conservitives.

I do believe in seperation of church and state, just look how fundamentalist religion run countries have turned out.
We were founded by 1 person 1 vote... not electoral college. I also believe that absolute power corupts.. absolutly.

We all have opinions and have the right to express them but not to force them upon others except by popular vote.

All men of the world are created equal not just the ones we agree with at the time. Our enemies of yesterday become our friends and allies of tomorrow(1776- ).

I also believe that hard labor for convicts should still be a viable sentance, and that being deprived of cable tv in prison is not cruel nor unusual punishment. Life sentances should be exactly that and death penalties should be as well, when there is no doubt about guilt.

I'm a non collared worker, I've been blue and white...and blue gives me most satisfaction for a good days work inside.

Welfare should be for short term, till you get a job, help.. not a source of lifetime annual income. Social security should be funded before military expeditures.

NAFTA is killing our country just as illeagal immagrents are wasting our taxes.

And last but very not least... I voted for Ross Perot and am proud of it. He would have been the only self paid, honest, non-polition since George Washington but, with the fire of Harry Truman.

MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY HONUKA, and GOOD KAWANZA to all,
Mike
