I have used this machine to get with it in the Iron infested areas cost me $100 and looks brand new throw in $10 for shipping for a total of $110.It makes an awsome competion machine noone runs at 100KHZ and works great for shooting thru Iron like the one in the last pic.Ok you say hey that doesn't have an discrimination and only goes 6" to 7" deep I say to you Hey I still have $890 for another detector.Let me get of the Compass kick and say purchase a Whites MXT.It has three programs to run in a very easy ID system and doesn't come with circus music and a dancing target cross hair ID system, and guess what I still have money left over for head phones and diggin tools.Ok now you say I still don't have the depth, well back to the Compass kick I have a Compass Gold Scanner Pro with Keith Wills mod and it will go deep ask Keith Wills,my analog meter is 100 times easier to read, it bounces between Iron and coin when Iron is trying to mask the coin and I know it is there. The analog meter is dead nuts accurate and the depth meter is way better then my Big E,and lets not talk about pinpointing I don't need know $189 sunray probe to find my coin.
Don't get me wrong but I am just not one to hop on a band wagon because someone sys it is the greatest thing I boughtit thinking I would not need more then one detector because this thing was programable etc.I see the error of my ways,I will keep the big E and learn it more and more but to call it a joy to hunt with it is not, unless I happen to hit a silver infested coin field and not a seeded one.I just don't see where this thing is so much better then what I have been using.I am all about digging and when I have to wiggle and walk around holes and and try to interpet what the heck this power house is trying to tell me,I just hope noone is watching me because I know I have a look of bewilderment on my face.my deepest coins are two wheat pennys at 8" this year one with the Big E and one with a Compass.I think if we all would be honest these things cost alittle to much and could be less complicated, could come with a built in detector stand to keep it off the ground.
I guess I enjoy a challenge but I will always carry a different brand with me to bring to the hunt.Folks it is not an easy machine to use and it does have its down falls, but I will say this it seems to be quality built, second generation ones that is.

the xs works without a doubt in upstate NY far better than many many other top and low brands and used em except the x5...my units (2)explores were paid day one with one copper from a cellar hole....the xs worked for me and I dedicate myself to the unit I purchase,I cant just jump on the hype wagon and second guess myself......just not worth it...good post and what works for me may not work for a hunting buddy, thats for sure.....HH Bri
