Part 2, of my Barber day story, Human aspect.

Heres the other cool the thing about that day.
We went up to the lake, for my girlfriends, fathers B-day.
and to drop off the kids for a few days.
anyhow, I dont drink anymore, and i brought the detectors, in case they got to drinkin around the fire, it'd give me somethin to do.
So, when things settled down a bit, I said I brought the detectors.
immediately, my G-friends,Dads eyes light up ,and he says "LETS PLAY" (qoute)
So we hit a few campsites, and his legs get tired i think ( I did the diggin for us both)
then he goes back to his chair at the fire.
A few minutes later, he's up and headin over to the truck to get the detector again.
So off we go, again,
That happened 4 or 5 times.
 he was gettin hooked
My G-friend said , everyone was gigglin at the fire.
She said everyone thought it made his day
They havent seen him have so much fun in a long time.
Then he's tellin me about a couple of old stage stops ,on neighboring ranches land
1 of em , nobody knows about.
also, an old school, nobody knows about.
And a story of an old timer ,tellin him years ago, that he lost a Silver Dollar through the cracks in the milk parlor floor,
which is now long gone, but on a friends property.
also an old huntin camp, where he personally used to play poker with silver coinage, back in the day.
and how theyd drink, and lose money, and how the forest service moved the trail, to where that spot isnt traveled anymore.
So, looks like I'll be huntin with him alot.
Hes retired, and is a Brand inspector, so has time to play.
and I can schedule time to play,.
Its kinda neat ,to see ,and hear him REMEMBERING, the past.
Actually, Its Awesome!!!!!, A heck of a lot better than a book.
I think I'll end with
" Gotta Love the Old Timers."

Sounds promising, your girl friend should have taken the kids home and dropped you off for a few days.

Priceless, down right priceless. Keep us posted! I agree with Dave. Hi Dave! HH, Nancy

and now the part where you celebrated your girl friends father's birthday and gained a new hunting partner with lots of exciting places to hunt. Stories like yours makes this Forum so interesting and enjoyable. Thanks for sharing such a great story, I loved it! Kelley (Texas)

Sounds like you found a new partner, resource...and friend. That's the spirit of this wonderful craft. Congrats Dusty. I'm sure we'll be seeing posts of some great finds from some of those "forgotten" spots. Good luck and let me know if you're looking for any more company.
HH
