Parking Token

I did some research on a local park and found that it was originally farmland associated with a colonial home that was not included in the land gift to my borough. There are a couple ball fields that have been there since before 1992 (that's as far back as I could go on Google Earth). I had a prior engagement today but managed to get out to the park for about an hour. I've been picking up quite a few pointers from videos so I now dig every target just to make sure and pack it all out. Perhaps clearing out the trash might yield something better later. About 45 minutes in I hit on this parking token. I had never seen one of these things before so I did a little research. It's pretty common but it's interesting none the less.

Neat Find. Any History of when or where they were used?

What I discovered after a quick search on the internet is that they were commonly used in the 1970's. I found an advertisement from a 1972 newspaper selling them. You could drop them in the parking meter just like a regular coin.

A month or so ago I was up in Nc for my Aunt;s 90th birthday and hit Ocean Isle Beach. Found two parking tokens. Havent found out where they were used.
