Park/Soccer Field -Rings and Things

Treasure Mike

New member
I found these goodies recently in local parks and sports fields. The 10 k gold ring with the blue stone was found in a tot lot below a slide ( 1.7 grams ) VDI reading was 12 on my MXT with the Bigfoot coil. I found the Chinese (?) coin in another wood chip play area today. Registered as a quarter (83 on the meter). The other goodies including the Cladaugh 925 silver ring (or however you spell it) were found in play lots and sports fields. The silver chain with pendant was just under the grass. I do not remember the VDI #. I took the pendant off and ran my coil over the chain and all I got was a little buzz and no VDI reading. I can see why most small chains are not detected unless you run across the pendant as I obviously did. All the other gold and silver chains I have found were much larger in size. The links on this one are maybe 1 mm. The other I have found without pendants had links about 4 or 5 mm or larger. I put this chain in a tight pile and it did not make much difference. I have read that the detector reads one link at a time. Seems kind of odd- oh well. Happy hunting to all and good luck! Mike
