we went to a park we havent hunted yet. not much there but a small playground and a couple of ball fields. not where i wanted to go but my hubby insisted so we went. i did find the silver necklace and about 1.43 in clad. my hubby found the rest...too bad the chain is broken on the necklace though.

Very Good haul!!!...I have never been skunked at any type of public park...Always clad to find at least, and usually lots of it...I just do not know why I have not been able to find any good jewelry...I have a few old home sites here in Solvay, NY lined up...I need to get with the owners and ask permission...Wish me luck...

all of my jewelry finds (which have not been much) have been found in playgrounds. Good luck..landstar

and beleive or not-----most of the clad was found in one spot. along with one of those pink polished colored rocks... i think a kid got hold of some change and just buried it in the sand.

Have you done much detecting on the berms between the sidewalk and the street in residential areas?' I would think that it would be a good place to find older coins if they have not been worked over very much. I plan to start doing that tomorrow.

we dont really have those here much at all....the yards go straight to the sidewalk then the street. im in a really old neighborhood. i have how ever been hunting where the city is working. they are almost done now though and some people laughed at me while staring because the city put in huge pipes running down the sides and i huntin there. i know what is pipe is what is not, i have found an item from the 20,s the 30, the 40.s and one from 1877 on the sides of the road where the pipes are. still they laugh....

Too much doggie dookie in the strips between the road and the sidewalk around my hood...noone pooper scoops...I used to, but finally said "WHY BOTHER?" Noone else does it...
