I really feel many especially newbies to the Explorer just have to try every facet until they are totally confused...Explorer offers many changeable facets and may or may not help those that try to use or change them all. A word to the wise, read some of the excellent sites for theories and the like and then feel free to experiment once you have used quickstart for a while which in its own right is an adequate setup. Again Explorer is only as easy or hard as you want it to be and no doubt experienced operators use many of the facets to make it a more potent machine in their area..So do go slow and understand the facets before you start changing them as many of the quickstart functions work just fine.
Reading some of the questions some are trying to run before they walk..Read Jim Vokes simple Explorer setup as it works without getting fancy..http://www.frontiernet.net/~jvokes/detecting.htm
Sure some facets are debateable in his setup but certainly a good program to start with..
