Paradise Lost, then found and returned!

Finally got pictures loaded into computer so I can tell the story. While vacationing in the Bahamas, my wife saw two couples frantically searching the surf for something. She went over to ask and found that one lady had lost a large silver ring that was a memento from a trip to Switzerland. It had slipped off and was seen rolling in the surf toward deep water. I had my snorkel and mask so went in and searched for over an hour with no luck, the couples left after a short time while I continued looking, after deciding that it was lost in deep sand I gave up. I had asked where the couples were from and found that they lived in Toronto, Ontario, which is about 40 miles as the crow flies, across Lake Ontario from where I live. I got contact information in case I happened to find the ring, but we were leaving the next day. Later in the afternoon at low tide I went back to detect the area and search for coins which had been showing up previously. After 15 minutes or so of finding a few coins, I found a large silver ring in my scoop and looked up to find that it was directly in line with an object on shore that she had identified for me. With some help from the hotel desk staff I was able to contact her and return the ring. She was very excited and appreciative of my effort. The ring turned out to be the only piece of jewelry found during my trip, but it made the trip worthwhile being able to get it back to her. Lloyd
