Some of you guys may have seen this.. Pretty cool!

Saw it sometime back. I wonder after it hit nationwide TV how many others have gone out to see what they can find? With the current gold price I'm surprised we don't see stories of mass "trippings" on the sidewalks of New York by pedestrians falling over gold prospectors.

Talk about exageration!!! He found maybe $5-10 worth of gold, and maybe another $10 in gems. No wonder he lives in his parents house, he would be better off picking through garbage for cans to sell to recyclers.

PS- diamonds are worthless. Don't believe me? Try to sell a loose one to a jewelry store!

Well to be fair, selling a diamond to a jewelry store is about as smart as selling steaks to the grocery store.
Meaning.. they have no reason whatsoever to buy from you. They have their source and its solid and dependable. They dont want every goofball off the street coming in to sell them stuff they dont need.
But they WILL buy it for cheap if you insist on selling it to them.
Doesnt mean diamonds are worthless. Just means you have to sell it to the right place.

You know the first tip on finding gold? " gold is where you find it" lol.

If you guys have any worthless diamonds or gems paying around I will surely snatch them up from you since " they are worthless". My wife's co worker found a monster diamond in her driveway after a big parade that goes by her place every year. Don't know the weight but she cashed it in for $8000 and got a couple of her teeth fixed. Good thing it wasn't "worthless".

so who are you going to sell it to? Pawnshop? Coin store? Ebay? Who is going to buy loose diamonds from an individual?

OK, not ALL diamonds are worthless. Large, flawless diamonds are valuable. Tiny little diamond chips like that guy picked up are pretty much worthless.
