I'm going to the beach this jun. How is the AT pro on the beach? I'm normally a cw relic hunter, but want to try my detector on the beach.

GO FOR IT!
Be sure to ground balance as usual UNTIL you hit the wet sand and then set the GB manually to 15-17.
Search parallel to the water's edge both in the water and on the wet sand.
Search in you favorite mode, but make sure you can find a nickel and quarter in the wet sand. And as you mainly hunt CW...bring the IRON REJ up to 38 or so, you are not looking for the iron on the beach.
DON'T get you land headphone wet.
When your finished detecting, take the shaft apart and rinse with fresh water.
With this you should do well.
A long handle scoop would be helpful and bring a trash apron. Also sun protection - long sleeve shirt, hat, socks or booties to cover the tops of your feet. You sure do not want to burn those puppies, it would ruin your vacation.
Hope this helps. Be sure to post your results when you get back...we will all enjoy the story.

Nice advice there. It's kind of tough with the AT Pro, but ground balance often. In the hard wet sand near the water, I recommend 13 -18; the lower is generally better. Mid beach can be troublesome with GB in the 60's; and dry...bone dry sand, probably in the high 80s. Really, ground balance OFTEN!
