I have a spinal cord stimulation system which is basicly the same thing, just in another part of the body. My battery pack/processor is just under the skin high in my right hip and the wires run up my back and into my spinal cord and yes, it does get extremly sore. Have had it now since June 0f "03". Its hard to find a position for sleeping and not be sore every morning when you roll out of bed. You should discuss these symptoms with your doctor and ask lots of questions. Hope this helps.

Call the experts..if your Doc. gives you no satisfaction ask for a second opinion which most inurances pay for. Having many maladies over the years if I don't like the Doc. or his procedures do ask for a second opinion. Having confidence can works wonders.
As far as metal detectors never heard of them affecting a pacemakers of course a call to the manufacturer is in order.
