I've read in the FAQ FAQ , about using this coil for finding gold. But how is it for finding coins and rings etc. Do you use it allot? Just looking for some more quality feedback on this little coil.

Thanks, John

Mine does real good on finding most all targets including coins. I usually just use mine in real trashy areas.

I have had good success with the 6 incher in shallow creeks and areas that are populated in the summer, swimming holes ect. Along footpaths and street curbs this little coil is outstanding and if you can hack the odd stares from people these places give up amazing targets. The best thing I love about this coil is the ability to seperate close targets, like bill_s says in trashy areas this coil excels.
Cheers!

at least 80 per cent of the time during the winter. It finds coins, rings, other jewelry and covers more ground than you might think, but it sees so many targets at high speed you have to go slow to get them all.

This coil gets good depth for its size, does good on coins, low conductors and is excellent in trash, run all metal while using it.

It was well worth the wait and I'm glad I bought one . All the good stuff that is said about it is true !!

Just remember that the 6" coil is SO sensitive, that you can't really use it for scanning super-large areas or really hot soils. unless you figure out the sensitivity settings ....otherwise you'll be pulling up tiny pebbles the size of plankton all day long. It's a "must have coil" for some jobs. It's almost stunning to find how sensitive it is to smaller, deeper targets. The emission field (that the coil puts out) on this coil is quite thin (very much like a knife blade) yet it projects deeper into the ground than anything else in most cases. The field on this coil is sharp rather than "soft and fuzzy" like the DD Elliptical coil and the Concentrics.

How easy is it to use it for sizing up your target? I know that with a larger coil I can usually use pinpoint to figure the rough size, between larger (soda can size) and smaller (potential coin, bottle cap, etc.). Because this is small coil can you get an idea if its a real small target vs. a coin or button, to avoid digging those metal specs that its going to pick up? I know that its not something that's easy to do, but if its doable then this coil is definitely for me.

Agreed. I did my first half of a hunt with the 6" HF in a low trash area. Then moved on to a very trashy section and the signal responses I got where overwhelming me. Mostly deeper targets but I had a hard time discerning targets.

I switched to my 10" DD HF coil which I really liked in taller grass and weeds area. I think I'll stick with the 10" DD until I get most trash dug up. Then search deeper with the 6" HF.

It is a coil for You.

It is the best small coil I have ever used on any detector.

You will not regret buying this coil, thats a promise.

In Coinshooting,
It really makes the nickles stand out @ 12, sometimes a 10/12 but you have to be careful as a 10 is usually a beavertail off a pulltab,12/14 combo usually turns out to be a pulltab.
Just my experience in my neck of the woods. It sure is a good piece of kit,as the minelab guys say.Someone once told me if your hitting nickles, your on the road to rings and things.

Go for it, you won't be disappointed.

Good luck
