Owners of both XT-50 & X-5

Im looking for some feedback from owners of both the XTerra 50 and the shadow x-5.
I currently just bought an xt 50. Unfortunately with this Wisc winter weather , I havent been able to try it out in the field. I will be using it primarily on grassy turf. We also have alot of beaches in this area, so Im considering either getting a 18.75 hi freq coil, or just picking up a used X-5, which runs at 19 kz., to use on the beaches. ( dry and damp sand). Im not concerned with $150 vs $500 price tag. For those of you who own both machines, what are your opinions of what route I should go? Ive owned minelabs for the last 10 years, never owned a shadow. Do you think the Shadows will be more sensitive on thin gold, and possibly better depth? Your opinions and thoughts appreciated. Thanks . bugg

I realize some of you may feel uncomfortable putting your thoughts on this in a public forum.

welll it's like I said, I have both the X-Terra 50 :) and the Shadow X5 :) , as well as 1-to-3 others detector models that I keep in my arsenal and usually loaded up in the rig for hunting.

I like my 18.75 kHz coil and there will be times I will opt to use it, especially for working prime gold jewelry sites where I can notch out the higher-conductive coins and junk.

But, I find the X-Terra 50 and the standard 7.5 kHz frequency to suit me best for hunting the older silver coins or sites where I just want to use Target ID.

There's no such thing as a 'perfect' detector and that's why I have a few to handle the wide variety of sites I tend to hunt. It's also why I have a Shadow X5. There are times and places where I don't care to use visual TID and where I want to have as much manual control over the set-up as possible.

If $$$ is not an issue for you, then I think you're on the right track to a two-detector set-up.
