overload

that's one of the problems of this hobby. there's just no telling whats behind the sounds. can be anything.

HH

It could be anything that is too large to ID.......... dig all overloads. I dug a 10 lb. solid copper plate the other day. What is copper $3 a lb.? Oh Ya......

Good points on the overloads.........................check it out.....................................................................John

I have dug overload target in allot detected place and it was 20pounds industrial brass water taps from 40s 15inch deep-some type of hoard

I have dug hundreds of overload signals, Best finds are as follows. A picture is worth a thousand words!!

But I have also dug HUNDREDS of pieces of trash. Your call!!!

It could be anything. My hunting pardner found a jar that was full of nice coins a few years ago at an old farmstead.
His XLT showed overload and he dug it. Quite a nice surprise.

i have dug up 3 cannon balls and a large 50mm bullet wich were all overload signals. it's worth digging some of them up. 1 out of 100 will probably just be a large rusty peace of metal plate or something like that. (like the old bit of farm machinery i dug up in the last picture.) but you never know what it is till you have a dig. don't always assume it's just a peace of junk. don't forget man has been using metal to make all kinds of things for centuries. swords, shields, knives, guns etc. get the picture. something to think about for the next time you get one of thoughs overload signals or a deep iron signal.
