OVERLOAD

A friend of mine told me that he was told that if you ever get an OVERLOAD sound on your Explorer you should shut it off for two minutes. This will reset your Explorer, if you don't your Explorer will only pick up coins 2 inches down and no further.

I haven't had that poroblem either.
I've had several target overloads on my Explorer, it only took a second or two for it to go back to normal. After an Overload, I could go right back to hitting 6"s and deeper targets no problem. Sounds like if an Explorer has to be reset after an Overload that it may have an electronics problem.
Overload has both a sound signal and a display indication, if you only get the overload sound and not a display indication it may also need to be looked at as a potential problem.

whats the display inducation? I dont think I ever looked on a large target alert

Jim, It just clears the screen and shows OVERLOAD across the ID display area, everything else is normal like batt, sens, thresh. I believe it only shows up on the Digital mode screen though.

Im never in digital mode except to check on some targets
