overload signals on teknetics detectors

Any way to adjust or turn off the overload signals on teknetics detectors . I've got a gamma 6000 that's almost unusable on some sites with lots of large shallow targets. Constantly lifting the coil will drive you nuts.

If you did shut off the overload feature would it even be possible to now detect some small desirable target next to some large undesirable shallow target?
I don't think so, so no benefit to turning it off. Or do you want to shut it off 'cause you are sick of listening to it?

I have always in area where there is a lot of larger target like beer cans that give off a louder signal that sounds good is once I get the signal I lift the coil up several inches or a foot and if the signal dont change it is a larger target and move on. If the signal get weaker I dig. Doing this in a area full of beer cans from years ago (the older blue Hamm cans) from a well party site that was old and a lot of lifting the coil got some barber dime, 2 Walker half dollars and a old car emblem for a Cole Car that went out of business in the 20s, almost missed it as it was smaller than a beer can and it changed as I lifted the coil. It worked good for me with my Sovereign and also my Fisher F 75 when I had it. If you get a loud or large target alert I just lift the coil while swing the detector and raise it up and it the volume dont go down it is a bigger target and move on, just a couple of seconds to do and back to detecting..

Yes, ist thing I tried was turning the sensitivity down and yes I was sick of listening to it. Thanks for the replies. I found the best solution was putting it in the closet and grabbing my Deus or Nox. HH

I found my 4" concentric coil for the 6000 and decided to give it a try. (I've been using the 7" concentric. ) I'm finding this set up pretty amazing in extreme trash. I'm able to crank up the sensitivity to 95 with no chatter and it doesn't overload over large trash. I pulled a lot of coins out of area loaded with pull tabs, nails, big iron and beer cans.. even got a 1926 Merc. Love this little concentric coil
