Hey everyone, just wanted to throw something out there.I found this old house to hunt built in the 1890-1900's yesterday was my 1st hunt there and i was only there for about and 1 hour 1/2 i found 6 wheaties in 1 hole, ans several other coins all together 12 wheaties, but not 1 silver,, there are so many signals i just cant hardly keep up i can't even take a step, is there an approach i can use to hunt this thing. i have no plan i just seem to be wandering, i really want to find some silver and i know its there. whats a good approach to hunting a sight like this.

Thanks Travis

What size coil you hunting with? Start with a 4" sniper coil and start cleaning little sections
here and there and go over those sections with a bigger coil. Hope this helps!

Set your detector to discriminate out what you don't want swing slow and turn down your sensitivity. If you have a small-4.5" coil use it. You may have to lift your coil a bit to pinpoint. We want pictures. If I could find a site like that I'd lay down and roll on it like an ol' hound dog, Congratulations on finding a site like that!:hot::thumbup::super:

i only have the stock coil and the old lady still lives there the good thing is that her son lives accross the street and his house is older than hers and he watched me md the whole time and said i could hunt his yard

Since you only have the stock, go slow, When you think you have a good signal, wiggle the coil back and forth quickly. Like you are vibrating it. It will lock onto the target better. Pin point doesn't work well with a lot of trash. Lets say you have a penny. By wiggling the coil you can center the penny up by how clear the bell tone gets. With practice you will understand what I am talking about. If you get a sniper, you will never go back to the stock coil in trashy areas.

Set your sensitivity low and scan very slow and use the scan and walk forward method I described recently. If you have many targets close together raise the coil a couple of inches or so to narrow the search cone and use the twitching procedure John described to isolate and better identify targets.
