I wanted to ask if anyone here knows if you can overcharge the rechargable battery pack that come with the Orginal Explorer?
Thanks in advance

This is what the book says-
Unlike Nickel Cadmium batteries, the NiMH battery pack DOES NOT have to be flattened to be recharged. Whenever the detector has been unused for a lenthy period, recharge the battery pack to insure full performance. There is no limit to the time the battery pack can be left on charge.

NiMh batteries can be damaged by overcharging,Much more so then NiCd.So just in case Minelab did not design the chargers so that they WILL NOT overcharge I connect a 24hr timer with the "ON" pin removed and the timer set for about 14hrs till it shuts off.

NIMHD batteries drain them selves in about two months. Many chargers have a trickle charge to keep batteries toped off to give full performance when used. Batteries can be stored in them and the trickle charge will keep them fully charged and no damage will ocure.
Minelab chargers use a trickle type charge "takes a long time" so the charger shouldn't hurt them if they are on for more than 14 hrs.
