OVERCAME THE LEARNING CURVE BIG TIME!!

Winter weather has been holding up my season to long, but today the frost has left some areas. So off to some chip lots was today's plan.
Put the stock coil on the new f70, set up, disc 15, sens 60, speed de, thres -2, tones 4h.
Hit two school totlots for a total of 5 hrs hunting time. All the manual reading, experimenting and forum reading suddenly clicked and it all made sense!!
Soon f70 and I are old buddies! I began to have a blast and enjoy this machine! Before the day was over I was able to id targets by the tones alone and very seldom had to look at the screen. The id was extremely accurate all day with only two mistakes, both coins on edge. My confidence level soared!!
Tally for the day:
Quarters--- 58
dimes------ 38
nickels----- 23
copper pen 19
zinc penn--- 76
una peso 1
10 cent euro 1
1 euro 1
Total coins 217! plus 30 pieces of junk bling, including 4 rings ( all junk ) 2 keys, and tada! a 20" chain (unbroken) that is stamped 925 yea! 24.4 grams weight!!!
I think I have found my new best freind!

Yep, that F70 is one killer quick broom...you will be getting plenty of days like that to come! Those settings are great for totlottin, but then again, you already know that! WTG Ed!

WOW! Nice finds for 5 hours work. I wish I could say I've overcame the learning curve, but after two seasons with the F70 I'm still struggling. I've read a lot on this forum, and decided to give it one more season, starting with disc. at zero, threshold at -2 or -3, tones at 3H or DP and sins. no higher than 70, but you have kind of destroyed that theory. I realize it all depends on soil conditions, etc. We have pretty sandy soil here in West Michigan. So, another other ideas on setting up the F70 will be greatly appreciated; just hope I overcome the learning curve before I trade it for an AT.

I can help you out if you want...you don't want to trade it in just yet..I've got the Atpro too, so just hold off and maybe we can get together someday and I'll show you a little of what I've learned, or maybe even learn something from you. Just sayin' here to help. Does not look like a fellow will be able to get out until the weekend anyway.
