First its my sons MD that santa brought this, and we watched the dvd on the operation and started to hunt with it in the AM mode and used the 3 tones plus the screen to discriminate, and it was fun to use it, the pp was right on, and learning the tones is a breeze so if a person been wanting to purchase. DO IT! The bell tone I like since I'm hard of hearing I give it a A plus!

It's probably the best ever deal, dollar for dollar offered on a metal detector (not made in China) made in USA. It has so many features, is programmable and has a nice variety of coils also. I also believe it is the biggest seller of a single brand ever, It loves gold, finds relics and is a very good coin shooter.

Your son now owns an ACE machine, pun intended. :)

Hope you two have some wonderful hunts together.:twodetecting:

My son says, daddy did you get this for me or you, funny stuff kids say oh well I tried lol ! I used to the tesoro line so the tones and screen was fun, i am getting the atpro soon if its better than the Ace I will be a treat for me! Thanks HHH

How does the sniper coil perform with the 250 slingshot?

My son Blake kicked my butt with his ace, and I used my silver umax that I had for a long time,so he found a chucky cheese token the same play I swung at and a dime about a foot away from each other, I'm just blown away with his detector needless to say I am sold on the Garrett detectors! The ace coil is beefy well constructed much more than my 10x12 coil I will add cam locks to the ace this coming year. HHH

I tried to sell mine 3 times and was just too stubborn to take less than $160 for it. Then I got to reading all the posts on the sniper coil. Got it and now there's NO WAY I would sell it. I had a 100 coin day a few weeks ago and half the coins were found near playground equipment, fences, sidewalks, railings, etc. I couldn't get to them with another detector. One reason is the Ace's sensitivity has such a wide range you can adjust it to get closer than most other detectors with a small coil. And the dang thing's no slouch on the depth and the sensitivity can be pumped up really good with it and you can burn some deep targets. I really need another Ace so I can have the 6X9 whenever I need it. But right now, it's the only coil I use.

the only reason why i haven't tried one is the dang color it sticks out like a sore thumb lol

Well, seeing all the fine detectors you've owned, you probably wouldn't be as impressed-but the sniper coil would make you forget about the color. And it usually brings out the Garrett Girls. Can I get some help here, John?

There are ways to paint plastic...I have seen a Pink ACE, and a Camo ACE so far...

I JUST BOUGHT AN ACE 250 AND I WAS WONDERING HOW MANY INCHES DOES THE SNIPER COIL GET? I WAS LOOKING TO BUY ONE ON EBAY BUT NOT SURE HOW DEEP I CAN GO WITH IT. WHAT HAVE YOU FOUND AND AT WHAT DEPTH WITH THE SNIPER?

Somewhere around 4" but target separation is great!

I thought the silver dime would be better on target depth than the ring, interesting thanks sandtrout
