Hehe what a beast :yikes:, was found by a member that has recently posted here, congradulations :buds: on a lifetime find. Details and pictures coming soon!!!

Wow what a trip! Let me start by getting my second of fame (actually 30 days worth) with what I thought was the biggest nugget found at the goldfield exactly 1 month ago from my birthday. I finally found an area that had been ground sluiced in Shasta County 3 years ago from the 1850's that is giving up large gold instead of the usual grainers. 295 grains was the top piece for a while with a tight second at 292 grains from the Goldbug Man. I lost contact with him but hell he may have us all beat. Recently we have been finding quite a few 1/4 ouncers then I doubled my best find out there with a whopping 592 grain or 1.23 ounce nugget. I call it the Taffy nugget because it looks like are Cocker Spaniel dogs cute little head. And the other 2 at 145.5 grains and a 24 grainer for a total that day of 1.58 ounces my best day.[attachment 17523 TaffyNugget.JPG]

Robert or know as WheelBubble and Glenn owner of the This and That Mining Store out of Etna CA has been hunting with me there recently. Unfortunately we do not live close by to this spot 7 miles long by 2 miles wide so we do not get to hunt it like we would like too. Wheelbubble was having a rough time getting his first nugget there but finally did and then was on a roll little did we know what the future had in store for him though, hehe. One thing about Robert is he has been immune to the gold fever though he doesn

Congrats. to both of you, that the kind of area I'm into right now also, I had a have dozen emails, asking if it was me that found it. I said no not me but I have high hopes for the place I'm working now, so far it has given me 2+ ozs and my uncle an oz+ nugget and a 4 gramer. Keep it up guys, don't ever give that spot up or quite. It could produce some larger nuggets yet. Grubstake

Hi Grubstake thanks, yes Robert has told me about how well you have been doing before he found the big one, hehe. Keep it up sounds like you have a great spot too, they are hard to come by.

Pics of Robert(Wheelbubble)Super Bowl Gold Nugget his new nickname is pounder, :hot:!!!
Congradulations again Robert what a find:clapping:!

WOW! To think that most of us are just trying to get into the ouncer club, which I have and also the 5oz club if there is such a thing.
Congrats, what a find now everything else will feel insignificant.

Great find!!! Never underestimate good ol' shasta county. I have many pounds a great nuggets stashed away from "worked out"areas where folks have told me I dredged that, it's a waste a time.Ya right! My biggie is a 1.73 ouncer flat creek down from the mine. LOVE clear creek private property but HUGE reserves on lower clear creek have robbed us of our mining rights. PLEASE see if'n your Bud will bring it to the GPAA show at the convention center in 4 weeks.I'd really love to meet her in person, sorry I call gold her as a he never made me that happy to find!!Tons a au 2 u 2-John

Congratulations Lonny! Hey, be sure to bring it to the Gold show in Redding. Be sure and look me up. I'll be around all day Saturday.

Hi there Lonny and all! The guy who found the bigun isn't me,the guy with the shop in Etna although the guy holding it up in the picture is me. Just thought I should get that straight. If Wheelbubble should be called pounder then I should be called little bit :) Thanks Lonny for spillin the beans and starting a new gold rush! :) Hehe! Just kiding since GB R and the Marine would never guess the real location.Too bad that original spot has been hunted out.Gold fields are not like golf courses where you can play for ever.

LOL nice to hear from you John, ya you have been all over Shasta County great nugget hunting. Was thinking of going to Ganes Creek dont need to now, hehe. I will talk to Robert about the Gold Show that sounds like fun didnt know Redding had one. This place is strange we are working away from the hardrock mines going up a slope and the nuggets are getting bigger makes you wonder whats on the flat above or the miles of workings below the mines which we havent detected yet. Unfortunately now that we are on to something I am relocating to another area and that brings my gold hunting to an end for now. I will try to hang around for the gold show though, who ever buys my detector or gold I will give them a tour of the place if they wish, they can take my place detecting, hopefully someone real smart in geology, I would like to hear what they have to say of the area. Wheres is the veins the Motherlode? Hehe. I am short on funds for the move so I am putting my gold collection up on Ebay, look for the links to Ebay soon!

It's coming up soon; March 3 & 4 at the convention center. It's on the GPAA web site. Drop me an email and let's talk.

Might have to take a little detour drop by and have a look at that beauty. Gonna run over to Happy Camp and visit some folks from Alaska that I haven't seen for too long...HH...Geo

You have a good nugget Wheelbubble, there is a woman up here that has a 13 oz nugget forsale, asking $17,000.00 for it. That will give you an ideal what the ball park figure is on it. Grubstake
