Thanks Pinenut. Mostly trashy sites for me so this is what I was looking for.pinenut said:Performance in what way?
On depth, Vaquero will be at least an inch or two deeper almost everywhere, depending on coil size.
Outlaw has better iron trash rejection, a more convenient toggle switch for all-metal mode and it doesn't sound like a duck while pinpointing.. I like the audio tone of the Outlaw better than that of the standard Vaquero, but the "high-tone" Vaquero sounds good to me as well. If depth is your main concern, Vaquero does out-perform Outlaw. However, I usually like using Outlaw more than Vaquero as I most often hunt trashy areas...where Outlaw is the better "performer".
Another consideration - Vaquero seems to perform a bit better around EMI, and it also has a frequency shift switch, which helps when using it both around EMI and around other detectors on the same frequency (like more Vaqueros and Cibolas..).
Choice is yours, but if you routinely hunt trashy spots, you may prefer Outlaw. If trash isn't a concern and you want best depth, go Vaquero.
