Outlaw on Monte,s nail board

GunnarMN

New member
[size=medium]Monties nails board, shows how many coins can be masked by nails even on the same level , so i also elivated the nails 1.5" obove the coins and it got harder , can you imagine if the coins where deeper , man you would never know they are in the grand. during the years the house stood and coins got lost they may have been easy to find untill the house burnt and scattered all the nails now several inches obove the coins , if you think your spot is hunted out think again , its really full of old coins hiding in the nails, the farm house i hunt is nail infested , and it gets plowed every year , and i find coins every year becuase the nails get moved around , I remember hunting it with the compadre and found tw wheat cents and covered the whole yard grided it and figured i was done, boy was i wrong every year after i have kept finding coins and you can see the bliss cant get thru 1.5" of nails to see the coins , what good is the depth of the bliss in this situation ??? you can see the outlaw is doing better by its smaller coil . so in the nail infested areas like old houses i do advocate digging the nails if you cant find anything in disq .. ya its hard but anything worthwile is hard and you may have to pay the dues . i know what you mean by a lot of the masking and such. Before winter hit I was starting to hunt a foundation in my dads backyard where a house burnt down. I tried other detectors in this spot years prior and they would just flip out and stuff, so I gave up on the area for quite some time. Once I took the Vaquero down there I really started to hit it and coins started popping up every which way. I even found a silver rosie in a hole right next to a nail. I'm sure there's more coins out there, but the place is infested with nails and such. My goal is to just dig the place out since it's on my dads property.

I think you are going to do good with the Outlaw this summer. Can't wait for you to learn some more things about the Outlaw on a actual hunt.I know the weather probably sucks up there still. When you get in the field with the Outlaw i know you will have some good tips for us.That was a neat nail board test.Keep up the good work Gunnar. If you still can't find your manual, they have manuals on the Tesoro site.I don't know if the Outlaw is on there yet.But you probably don't need it now.The no-motion and retune button is what gets newbies messed up at first, because it is so different. They switch to no -motion and they think the detector will run smooth. It will not do this.I am sure you will try it when the whether clears.I hope if the weather will stay cool, maybe get the Outlaw in the woods, and see what is going on.Gunnar, everyone hear on the Tesoro forum really enjoys your talent.Thank you.

I like the choice of book!

You demonstrate what has been discussed often, that in the trash, a small coil, worked with overlapping and slow sweeps and covering an area from different directions all help find targets. Like the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words!

Way back when i had the Golden Umax , and was using the same 7" widescan i found some dirt piles from an old hotel and the piles where just full of nails i just kept digging the nails and after a low tone then a high tone this is the stuff i found , I did find one token with the musky but the same principal small 7" coal and diggin all it was more nails infested than monties nails test for shure,

Nice video and finds GunnarMN, I have been so stubborn about sticking 2 the 10.5 coil on my CZ-3d for coverage and depth but after seeing this i need to re-think that!Let's see where is that little coil there it is...gotta go HH

Great video; a lot of good information.

Wow bro you included the bunny slippers lol. In all seriousness,I noticed you "anticipated" finding the coins at certain angles and were suprised by not picking them up. You did this obviously because you knew where the coins were placed. However, in the real world, you wouldn't be "disappointed" as your detector would not sound off. Hence, you would think there was no "valuables" in the area and move on. You are lucky to have that field plowed every year. Cool test / video and this shows small coils (worked slow) will pull "goodies" out of the trashy iron spots. Hang in there and soon you will be able to quell your cabin fever. I wish you many great finds.

p.s. those are some really nice finds and really like the tokens.

Jim its to badd you could not come to this farm spot and try your small coil , I would make a video of your hunt, but connecticut is a long way from Minnisnowda.

yep about 1317 miles and 20 hours of driving. You have that right it is minnysnowda.
