ya me to but not on video cant wate for the outlaw hh

Gunnar,
I noticed that in going to discriminate mode you did not readjust the ground balance. Have you tried Power Balancing it over that sand to see if there is any improvement in response in discriminate mode compared to where the detector was ground balanced to neutral in all metal mode?

I haven't used an Outlaw, but if it runs true to the Tesoro's I've used, I'm guessing that Power Balancing will get the ground balance setting about 1/8 to 1/4 turn counter clockwise of where the all metal neutral ground balance setting is.
Cheers,
tvr

PS ... I don't care what the slippers look like as long as they are comfortable! And I am NOT posting pictures of my favorite slippers!!!

No I have not tried power balancing I would like to try that in disq and see what happens how do I power balance ?

Description of method, at the most recent post I've found it at by Monte, is at the link.

You got a bad case of cabin fever Gunnar!.I like to keep my rod out longer in the woods to have a little reach around trees and brush and critters. What ever you did to that rod,i don't want to know. There may be some meds you could get from your doc Gunnar, if the condition gets worse. Thanks for the vid.You seem ready for spring. My moped went down so i am back on the bicycle. After i get a few more detectors i am buying a brand new moped online.I have not been able to hunt much this winter.Everything just went wrong.Just got to keep going.Spring will be here soon Gunnar. Thanks again.

say i did power balance and it does work better looks like a negitive works better for the outlaw in disc, I get a clearer signal . maybe i can do a video.

Gunnar thanks for sharing. The Outlaw is one special detector.

Thanks for the added information and the testing you are doing!

Note that by power balancing, I believe you are actually finding the neutral ground balance point when in the discrimination mode. It just happens to have the ground balance knob set a little negative of where the knob is set for a neutral all metal ground balance point.

If you guys don't knock off I am gonna end up buying an Outlaw, especially you Gunnar!

Gunnar,
nice test with the outlaw. Make sure you power balance when you are out in the field. Oh those slippers....did you cut the head & ears off? lol. look forward to your Spring hunt with the Outlaw.

Jimmy I need to find out whear to get those slippers, perfect for metal detecting , people will stay away from me , and they wont set off the detector like my boots, and the wildlife will like them . you alway find the good stuff

I keep a spare pair of shoes in my vehicle, because I kept arriving at the detecting site still with my house shoes on (mine are not pink:)). I'm so used to wearing my house shoes around the house and yard that I don't give it much thought when I head out the door to go detecting.

LOL I can invision you in the middle of your farm sporting your pink bunny slippers while creating your next video for findmall. You might even get a "snicker" from the wildlife. All that I know is if you start door knocking ( for your next place to metal detect) you might get hauled off to the "pokey" for evaluation. - Jimmy
