Outlaw finds a little history

Founds this about a week ago while detecting a house from the early 1900's, It is a G.A.R. Badge. (Grand Army of the Republic) Here is a link with a better picture and history.

Although the Outlaw is not as good as my Eldorado was (God rest her soul) this is still a very nice detector and is really good on silver and jewelry and just plain weird finds. I basically use it in older houses. If you have one definitely dig the very soft and iffy signals, those seem to be when I get my best finds.

Nice find Klever, I found one of those several years ago. Half the fun is researching the strange items that we dig up.

Great find Klever, I think medals like that are more fun to find than common date silver coins. Like you, I live for those faint, small and modulated signals as they usually turn out to be something good.

That's a great find.

Here is what the GAR building in Detroit looks like now. The red doors are fairly new. I don't recall that last time I saw this building in person.

I would love to detect in Detroit. I detected years ago on Belle Isle around an old concession stand and found a lot of silver. I wouldn't do it again without backup (if you know what I mean).

Wow that is one strange looking building. Does not look like it is very wide at all. Maybe just the angle of the pic.

awesome finds, that building looks abandoned
