Outer Banks NC hunting

cloctor

New member
Well I finally have the time 3 days and money to go to the outer banks for some beach hunting. Never been beach hunting before. What are some good beach setting for the Exp 2? And has anyone done any hunting in the Nags Head, Duck, Corolla areas?beach tips

Greetings, cloctor. When I Beach hunt, I do not use discrimination. The reason for that is pulltabs, foil, and other undesirable trash signals could be a ring, or other desirable targets. Here in Pensacola, they run a "beach rake" daily. This removes much of the trash. Some hunters on this forum prefer to set their machine on fast & deep simultaneously. I have not tried this yet, but I intend to. I do not know the mineralization of the beach or iron content there either. Just remember, if you don't dig pullltabs foil etc; you may miss some impressive jewelry finds:nopity: I hope this is helpful, and enjoy yourself and successful hunting:yo: Happy Hunting Grounds,

HI cloctor, I hunt N.Y. beaches & hunt in iron mask , I run my sen. in auto & run 26-32 depends on cond. Like Savage said u have 2 dig the junk 2 get the GOLD . Just like land hunting "slow" & listen 4 those faint signals, 2 find the old gold. GOOD HUNTING & GOOD LUCK

Went to the Outer Banks early this summer. Had a good time but found most clads and junk jewelery. I have the XS instead of EXP 2 but I used the stock coil and hunted mostly with iron mask set about -12. Sensitivity I could run up about 28 even down to the water's edge. Good luck and hope this helps.
