Out with the Golden uMax, having trouble finding nickels

OSo I went out today with my new Golden uMax, searching around a High school practice football field. This is my third time out with it, I have found lots of clad, over $3 today, mostly quarters and another $3 from the two previous hunts. All mostly quarters, a few dimes and a couple of pennies. But I can't seem to find nickels, I know they are there if everything else is. I can here the four tones nicely (not the low tone too much as I have the disc set at just below nickels. Every time I get whatI think is a nice lower middle tone, I end up with foil or a piece of can slaw. Like I said, lots of aluminum to show I am digging that tonal range, but no nickels. After a while, I just gave up and stuck to the high tone.

Any pointers would be nice

I found this clip yesterday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FnE8uhVB1_g He seems to have similar problems.

After you set your notch did you check to see if your machine still picked up nickels before resuming hunting ? You may have to set your notch a little lower .
