Out With The Duelling GTI's Again Today.....:detecting::detecting:

Usually on Tuesdays, my buddy & I head out with our detectors and attempt to find older targets. Today we headed to a spot we haven't really hunted before and managed some keepers. my buddy eyeballed this older bottle while digging a possible target. there are no letters or words on the bottle, other then the numbers "88" on the bottom. That old flattened cup had some designs on it that could be seen under the dirt & oxides.

Here's a close up of the cup after a good cleanup. I am not sure what it is made of? It doesn't stick to a magnet. Perhaps pewter or silver? The bottle with some green liquid to better show it's details, a 1968 silver quarter and a tiny teddy bear all covered with rhinestones.

Has anybody noticed since they started metal detecting that their observation skills are improved? It seems like I see a lot more stuff because I am tuned in to looking for coins or relics on the ground and near where the targets my detector finds. I spotted a 22 casing in tall grass the other day and I don't believe I would have noticed it before I started this hobby. the 22 case had been fired and was weathered from being out in the elements. Just like seeing old bottles and stuff. Nice finds by the way.

Probably 190 proof. That's what flattened the cup. HA. It used to flatten me in my drinking days.
