Out with the 1266X

I used my 1266X for the first time in a couple of years this past weekend and I have to say the 1266 is still a great detector.

Ive had a CZ, I own a C$ and also a Minelab Explorer, dont ban me Bill:) and its was nice to not listen to all the "racket" for once.

In good ground I still think the 1266 is one of the deepest detectors Ive ever used. Ive got the 10.5 inch coil on it. Didnt find a lot, maybe half a dozen minnie balls but it was good to be out in 80+ degree weather in March.

HI Bob,

Maybe I shoulda kept that coil. ;) Good job on the minnies! All I got over the weekend was one Merc and an 09 Wheat (no S-VDB) Really liking the ID Edge so far tho.

as I have been enjoying using the 1270 again & I'm kicking myself ofr selling it. Yea it loves those black rocks here, but it also gets to deeper relics the ID units missed so it seems a good trade off. I have been seeing alot recently it's good to go over places with different units, or go back over in all metal, as 1 unit will never get it all....
I've started packing already. So as they say in Jamaica...
"soon come" ;)

Bill,

It is one of the "greenest" wheats I have ever found, shoulda took a picture before rinsing it off to show you guys. Got this fairly soft high tone hit with the right numbers (28-30 range) which kept changing up or down a number or two depending on the sweep angle. It left a green impression in the dirt clod and was on an angle at about 7".

Yeah I agree on the weight Bob. Thats why it has the long cable so I could chest or belt mount the 1270. It got so I could not use the big coils wading for any length of time and I do not need that kind of depth on land with the 1270 around here. Glad to see you putting it to good use.
