Out of touch for a while

Not that I was missed at all but just wanted to let you all know that stupidity isn't just for
the young. I almost tore my thumb off loading a 1000# round bale of hay when the cable snapped,
(brand new 1800# heavy duty come-a-long) on the come-a-long, backlashed and wrapped my
thumb up in it, tore my nail off and split my thumb down the middle ""after"" I had it up on the end
of the trailer. Back in action now. Horses eating square bales from now on. By the way, I did buy
an electric winch and welded it on the front of my 16' dovetail trailer, just in case I have to do something
else stupid.

GOOD TO BE BACK TYPING, DETECTING, AND ON THE FORUM AGAIN.

Ouch. Makes me cringe just reading about it. Hope it doesn't set your hunting and digging back too much.

Gezz yuck. Glad you're back. We all do stuff

Yep!!! I took a picture of it right after it happened. Showed it to my wife when she
got home and she almost passed out. Works for EMS too. It was bad so I didn't
want to put a picture of it on here. Totally unnecessary but I am digging again and
man I'm glad to be back. Seems like the whole time I was out it rained and all I
could do is read. ====read a while====bandage a while====read a while====...........

Almost forgot/////////////Thanks guys///////////

Thumbs are overrated. Wait, no they're pretty darn important. Glad you are recovering fine. JJ

Just a quick echo of other sentiments already expressed and a thank you directed to the Lord above for your recovery and that it was not worse. Serves to remind us all to be alert for the hazards present in everyday activities. The absence of injury does not prove Safety. This hobby has its share of dangers as well. Be careful out there and God Bless you.
