Out Of Phase

Posted this info on another forum but maybe someone here has noticed the same thing.

Hit a real trashy local park today with the F-75 set up Disc. 0, PF, 1 tone sometimes 4H and Sens. 80, iron, high nickel, tab and zinc Notched OUT. Was using the small coil. Noticed that the good target signal tones (coins) appeared to track along with the sweep speed but bad target tones seemed to lag behind. The time lag was significant or I wouldn't have noticed it. Maybe it was just the way I had the machine set up. Maybe it's a helpful clue.

You mean the tones were behind the VDI? Interesting. I believe I read somewhere that they are seperate circuits so that would be a good thing to remember.

Actually, it appeared that the tone(s) were lagging behind the coil passing over the target. Haven't had a chance to get out again and check it out but there's always a chance that there was a short between the earphones. Wouldn't be the first time.
