Last night I decided to take the AT Pro to my best silver site. Well, what used to be my best. Once I discovered how much was there, I clobbered it good. I still find a silver coin there every once in a while but now only on the edges of the property, in areas that are difficult to detect. First hour, as expected, I found a lot of nickels as the ATP is a nickel magnet. The Buffalo Nickel with the slice out of it is actually a decent date. 1916D. Too bad it is so beat up. A few of the Jefferson nickels are from the 40s/50s. I got a signal that was supposed to be a silver dime that turned out to be the baby silver ring. I took a long walk across the newer parts of the field to get some clad. Stumbled on a nice coin spill of three one dollar coins and around 10 quarters. That satisfied me and I went back to looking for silver. All of a sudden I had around a dozen helpers. Nice kids. The last target they helped out with was the Merc which was cool because none had ever seen one. They of course all wanted it. This discussion and passing it around interrupted my hunt for quite a while. We ultimately decided that I should keep it. (Like there was ever a doubt!) There are 6 wheats there too. 30s/40s. Today would have been a great day to go out but I didn't feel like it. Even with all the rain we got last month it's already starting to get very dry. Weather. I used to have a friend who loved to discuss the weather...........
I have never gone into June without having found a bit of gold. That stinks and I plan on whining about it until I find some.
