Out in the snow today

I headed out for a few hours hunting in the snow today. It was a decent day with no wind and a balmy -5 celsius so I took advantage. The ground was frozen up pretty good but by standing on my lesche shovel and rocking it I was able to break into the ground. I only got a few targets but had a great time.

I was thrilled when I saw this come out...

I thought it was some sort of medallion but after I got it home and cleaned it I realized it was a nice 30's vintage watch fob which really made my day.

Also got a few old pennies from the 50's and a 1921 penny over the next while then when I was thinking of home and a hot coffee I chipped out a nice large cent which made a great note to end on.

Here are the finds...

And a close up of the best of it..

It'll soon be time to pull the batteries out of my land machines (the water one's are already done) as the winter really closes in, but here's hoping for a couple more digs first!

Nice finds in that last hunt.:clapping:

My winter hunts always reward me with frozen mud and snow in the face and I give up before finding the signal.

I guess perseverance pays!

Excellent Work Scott. I keep thinking the snow is going to fly in my area soon. Not much to speak of yet. NIce warm days. cold mornings and nights though. I would hunt in a blizzard if I get the green light. I don't get out much with faimily and work responsibilities. I would not change my time with my wife and kids to detect, even though I love getting out to detect. Nice pictures. Finds like that make it worth hunting in the snow and cold. Hope you keep finding the good stuff. HH
