Our Weekend:

Nancy-IL

Well-known member
Larry and I met up with a few good friends for some camping, detecting, good food and some BS'ing around the campfire. Larry, Steve & Steve hunted Friday and Saturday while Pam and I stayed back at the camp site. I was cooking my fingers to the bone for those men. Just kidding. I love to cook for a crowd large or small. Sunday I was finally going to get my MXT dirty. All 5 of us went to an old school playground. The school has long been torn down. That's where I found two wheat cents 1913 - 1947-D. Also found the pocket knife down 7-8 inches and the old button. Then went back into town and I found the 1919-S dime, 1906 Indian Cent and a few more wheats. Thanks for looking and hope others got out to enjoy the weather. HH to all, Nancy

Now that's a fun weekend!! Good chow and fresh turf to hunt. Nice finds Nancy.

Super find, and thanks for the pics!!!! What's the VDI range for the HDs????

Also, have you picked up anything besides a zinc penny in said VDI range???

Thanks for sharing/Cliff

Thanks Cliff, The Indian Head Cents jump all over the place from the 50's to the mid 70's. But a solid tone and didn't sound trashy. Those silly zinc cents are a pain! But yes, there's big gold rings and also screw caps that have a VDI as such. Sometimes a small key or a small silver ring will be in that range also. I wish you the best of luck and I'm sure you'll LOVE your new SunRay Pro Gold headphones. Thanks again! Nancy

Great finds Nancy! Camping and Md'ing are two of my very favorite hobbies. Nice work on the Merc and Injun!:clapping:

Nice finds and good friends, you can't beat that........

I'm going to have to look into a camping trailer as the getting up and down of tent camping just doesn't work well anymore. :( I need to "rough it" like you did.

Oh, and nice finds as well. Are you using the stock 950 on your MXT or ???

Monte

Thanks Monte, I sure like our camper. It's a bit smaller than the boat was, but it sure beats sleeping on the floor. Yes, I was using the stock 9 1/2" coil. I do have many others, but when there's a place with very little trash, I always reach for the stock coil. The other coils I like is the 5.3 and BigFoot. OK there's a lot of coils I like, but it just depends on where and what I'm hunting. You take care and if you get that camper, give us a shout. We're always up for a camp-out or a hunt. HH, Nancy

Hi Nancy, think your sure lucky one way--- looking at your pictures it looks as if everything is so green and lush, must make for easy digging!! Here in CA it takes a pick and a chisel to get to a target at this time of year, but then it is like 78 deg and 10% Rh. So as they say
