Our City Mayor visited our church this morning with this prayer

Our area has some major drug problems, last week the mayor sent out a short video to area Churches requesting them to join together for, one day, one service, one time to pray together to break the hold that drugs have in this whole area. He isn't a member of our Church but is good friends with our pastor. The one day, one service, one time was this morning. The mayor himself gave the prayer. The last time I looked the video didn't have any adds in it.

You know I was thinking, I've watched a lot of videos on youtube and I've seen some good stuff on many of them, but what gets me is some of the garbage that goes "Viral" stuff with no meaning, many are just trash! now I'm not talking about detecting video's, I'm talking about those music video's that's just naked people and trash talk, I would love for something like the above video to go "Viral" I would like to see more city's and towns take this type of action, let the druggies and the pushers rant and rave in the comment section. So, maybe if you fill led to share this video with some friends maybe it will inspire other people in places of authority to do things like this. I mean Miley swinging naked on a wrecking ball got video of the year!!! what a joke!!

Its seems to be very rare in this day and time for a public figure like a mayor to request an open prayer and lead the city in the prayer. I mentioned in the title post that he had put out a plea a week ago, here is a link to that video. This video isn't very long. He had ask a camera crew to come in and film him making a request for the churches to join in prayer.

I am glad to see that your Mayor has some compassion for people with this horrible disease. I don't know of many families who aren't affected by this problem. God bless them all.

I have two grandchildren that their parents lost everything due to drugs,
They lost their house,
Their cars,
The kids, (and now the grandparents share in raising them) (We get court appointed weekend visitations with them)
The mother (in-law) moved in with a guy two houses up and she found him dead of an overdose in the bed, the kids were up there that morning and couldn't wake him up, they didn't know he was dead!
The mother is now working but is in a gay relationship that the kids hasn't figured that out yet.
My stepson is in another live in relationship, but not working and not supporting the kids.

My nephew and his girl friend and their daughter was on a road trip to Florida to the pill mills and he wrecked and his girl friend died at the scene. The daughter didn't get physically hurt, but she has to have canceling. The drug test on my nephew turned up Cocaine, Pot, and Oxycodone, he's in prison doing 5 years and with a "Death Due To A DUI" His mother is a wreck! (my wife's sister)

I've seen the effects of drugs close up! its nothing but evil!! I have many more first hand stories of families around me that have members with one foot into deaths door because of drugs! Families who's adult children come and take their elderly mothers prescribed medication, her money. The wife and I try to help but most people have know idea how to help an addict, most any help ends up being a means, even cooking them meals so they have something to eat just free's up a few dollars for drugs. In the past I have paid backup house payments, bills for the rip off methadone clinics, electric bills, mowed waist high grass, just to find out that it just enables the addict. Please don't feel sorry for me, that's not my intentions its just after seven or eight years of this in my life I see that's its up to God! I've tried, I've failed, I've gotten up, to many times, I'm sick of the drugs!

Its above mankind! our Mayor now knows this, its going to take God Almighty to get the people free from this strong hold of drugs.

Thank you all for the post, I would still like to see these video's spread across the internet like a wild fire out of control, I'm thinking I will never watch another music video or forward one either unless it has some Godly uplifting message.
