Ouch! Court Rules against Odyssey Marine Exploration

Plaintiff against the Defendant and the ONLY winner is...............................................LAWYERS on BOTH sides.

You find a ring worth 15.0000.00 guess what ? Its YOURS!!

You find a Cache worth 5 million dollars AND you tell others. LOL good luck in trying to keep a penny of it.

Top guys they are, had the pleasure of repairing their tig welding machine a few years ago in Falmouth docks. The submersible needed some work doing on it, and the tig packed up. That submersible is one hell of a bit of kit....

thats a lot of booty......ya seems like the more dollars involved the lesser the reward........ is spain going to re-emburse them for thier time, materials, fuel, and effort????? i hope they at least get a thank you card......

I believe this was found in international waters, though close to Spanish waters so I think the Pearl Harbor analogy is not really helpful not to mention about 300 years difference. Any survivors or family with emotional ties to the Mercedes left? I think not.
Once again we have money dictating and power manipulating outcomes. A fine example of what I like to call cranial colon spelunking without a flashlight IE this stupid decision stinks!

If forced to give this treasure to the Spaniards, out of respect for the "Pearl Harbor" theory advanced by Spain, I would dump the loot in an Atlantic ocean trench and let the damn Spaniards retrieve it. They may have a claim on the treasure through the court, but it is up to the damn Spaniards to retrieve it.

I would take the lot of it back to Spain, and have an "accident" in the deepest part of the Atlantic Ocean and let Spain find and recover it for themselves. This is what is wrong with our whole legal system, in all fairness, the treasure should go to the Myans, that is who Spain stole it from in the first place. This is just another lesson to me that when I find good things, I am the only 1 to know about it.
