when was a dress $5.00?
i think, from what i read, this is from the roaring 20's, when lucky strike cigarettes were popular, and when women were smoking and partying.
from what i understand, lucky strike promoted their brand for weight loss to women.
so i beleive, this dress store named themselves after the cigarette, to attract women purchases.
