Hey fellas have question. To me it seems the etrac is a very sophisticated piece of equipment lots of setting and lots of options. Well I was looking at the v forum and it was post after post settings for this and that. Think two pages in seen a pic of some clad. This site though is picture after picture and some setting talk. Are those units more for the tinkerer and that's big part of the joy? Or is a unit like that out of a simple fella like mes league to understand?

Hi Will and welcome to Find's Forums.

This thread should be on the Metal Detecting forum because it has nothing to do with the ET, but.......

The V3i is a fully adjustable detector that can be customized to ones needs and likes, most users know that when they buy one. Three adjustable frequencies that can be used singly or with each other is no easy task and learning how to use the hundreds of adjustments can take a lot of time to learn. Once the basics are learned, 6 to 8 adjustments, it becomes a turn on and go detector like all others and most of the adjustments that can be made are for convenience and seldom used by the average user.

There are detectors from a simple beep and dig to the V3i and everything in between, there is a detector for everyone out there.

I think he might have meant that V was another forum and not V3i but the Etrac can be turn on and go but it also has a lot of options to tweak it if you want. most people start with a simpler machine and move up to the Etrac later but there has been beginners start with one but it would be a lot harder for a beginner
