Original Vision

Minelab has always had the vision to create new technology for the detectorist. Not wanting to rest on their laurels. The Exterra series is hard to beat for all around hunting. If they have improved the new Exterras even more, then I dont see anyone wanting to look at anyone elses detectors. The Exterra 70 I have can go back in hunted out civil war camps and pull more goodies out that were left behind by the competitors. Here are a few things found in the last two outings from hunted out camps in SW MO.

The X-70 just keeps rolling along.:clapping:

Hey SWMO..what coil were you using.I'm trying to keep a little record of coils used in recovering Civil War items. Thanks TomB

Tom, I use the 10.5" coil, 18 khz. I have found it best to hunt in all metal with 2 tones. It allows you to here all the iron signals, so you know when to slow down and investigate the area more. Nice high pitched tone for the bullets, etc. I use the 18 khz coil because the bullets read closer to gold type signals than silver. I dont see that you really lose any depth on silver coins. Hope this helps. Mark

But I know SWMO Mark, he could take a tree limb and find treasures down to at least 10 inches deep. That man is amazing. I would pit him against and treasure hunter here.
